Raw Material: Exploring the Creative & Mythic Self

  • Spiral Mirror 635 Broadway Studio Left Kingston, NY, 12401 United States (map)

Raw Material with Liridona Duraku

An intentional gathering around creativity and being an artist.

This circle invites creators of all types—artists, writers, facilitators, musicians, dancers, farmers, and anyone and everyone who is exploring their creativity through the lens of creating and recreating the self. We are our own raw material—an ever spiraling myth of creation in constant motion.

The parts of ourselves that we choose to express inform the story we’re creating both externally and internally. The mythic self is an ever-changing process of self-discovery as we try on and express through different archetypes. It asks us to be present in who we are in this moment, while knowing that we can reach our hand into the past and future to shift the narrative and the creative process.

This gathering is an opportunity to step outside of the solo-process and explore in a community of interdisciplinary creators. There will be time for introduction and connection building, creativity-inducing exercises around a special theme and pulled from spiritual and energetic modalities (such as land based practices, flower essences, Tarot, somatic practices); and an opportunity to share about current art projects. Folks are welcome to bring projects to show & tell what they are working on, whether paintings, poetry, or anything. We will collectively hear and give feedback (if wanted).

We are at the center of our creating. What story are you embodying today?

March’s theme: Timelines of the mythic self (non-linear)

Exchange: $22
