Based on a 10th-century Japanese folktale, The Tale of the Princess Kaguya is a magical and enchanting story told with a variety of animation styles from the singular Studio Ghibli. Through a moving coming-of-age arc, the movie seamlessly integrates layers of realism, fantasy, mythology, and spirituality. It is simply one of the greatest animated movies ever made.
